Growers happy over good yield of guava in Barguna

BARGUNA, Aug 9 (BSS) : Growers are happy over good yield of guava in Barguna district this year.

According to District Agriculture Extension sources, about 200 farmers have cultivated guava on 85 hectares of land in the district this year.

Price of this popular fruit remains unusually low in the local wholesale market. Presently, a maund of guava is being sold at Tk 120-150 in different markets of the district.

Tasty varieties of guava are sent to different areas including Dhaka, Rajshahi, Khulna, Chittagong, Sylhet, Patuakhali and Barisal from the region.
