Joint observance of World Mental Health Day

In a pioneering move for Bangladesh's public sector, four major national institutions -- the Public-Private Partnership Authority (PPPA), Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA), Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority (BEZA), and Moheshkhali Integrated Development Authority (MIDA) -- jointly observed World Mental Health Day recently, led by their head, Ashik Chowdhury.
This thoughtful initiative stands out as a rare example of leadership that prioritises people above all, says a press statement.
Mr. Chowdhury believes that a healthy and positive workplace environment is vital for meaningful performance, as employees spend the greater part of their day at work.
"No organisation can create lasting impact unless its people are mentally strong and motivated," he remarked, underscoring his belief that employee well-being drives institutional success.
In a context where mental health often remains unaddressed in Bangladesh's work culture, this gesture reflects a progressive mindset one that connects empathy with efficiency.
By initiating this observance across four major national institutions, Ashik Chowdhury has set a new benchmark for compassionate and people-centered governance and inspiring others to recognise that sustainable impact begins with employee well-being.
