Major Blenders lent a strong support for all varieties which resulted in the market being dearer in the tea auction market held in Srimangal on Tuesday, according to a press statement.
Other packers and Loose tea buyers were again quite selective in their buying.
Dusts were a strong market.
CTC LEAF: As many as 39,669 packages of Current Season Teas on offer met with a very strong demand.
BROKENS: BOPs were a good market and better liquoring sorts sold at firm to slightly dearer rates. Good liquoring GBOPs were a strong feature and were often dearer by Taka 2.0 to Tk 3.0.
All Medium and plain liquoring Brokens also sold well and were mostly firm particularly the plainer sorts. There were less withdrawals this week.
FANNINGS: Bright liquoring Fannings were strongly competed for and were mostly dearer by Tk 2.0/- to Tk 3.0/- over last.
Medium varieties were also a strong market and tended dearer. Plainer sorts followed a similar trend with less withdrawals compared to previous week.
CTC DUST: As many as 7,081 packages of Current Season Teas on offer met with a strong demand. The best and good liquoring teas met with good competition and were dearer by Taka 8.0 to Taka 10.
Others also sold well at around last levels with only a few withdrawals. Blenders lent very strong support with a little interest from the Loose tea buyers.
