RANGAMATI, May 8 (BSS): The production of mango and litchi in the district has suffered a setback in the current season due to severe drought for the absence of rainfall and adverse climate effect.
Farmers of the district have expressed grave concern as they may not get expected production of mango and litchi in their gardens.
Rangamati Agriculture Information Officer Taroon Bhattachariya said the production of mango and litchi would be less than that of last year because of flowers and buds of the fruit trees dried up in primary stage due to bad impact of drought.
Last year, the hilly district had witnessed a bumper production of these fruits, he said.
