Market witnesses strong demand from blenders

There was more teas on offer this week which met with a very strong demand from the major blenders who competed strongly for all varieties at the tea market on Tuesday, said a statement.
Loose tea buyers lent more support than last week. As a result, prices appreciated quite considerably.
Dusts were a dearer market.
CTC Leaf: As many as 22,566 packages of Current Season and 160 packages of Old Season Teas on offer met with a stronger demand at dearer rates.
BROKENS: All Brokens were strongly competed for particularly the bright liquoring types and these appreciated initially by up to Tk 05 and with the progress of sale increased further.
Plainer types also sold well at around last levels.
FANNINGS: All Fannings were also strongly competed for and advanced by Tk 05 to Tk 07 and sometimes more for brighter liquoring types.
Plainer types also sold well at firm to slightly dearer rates.
CTC DUST: As many as 5,316 packages of Current Season and 10 packages of Old Season Teas on offer met with a strong demand.
Good liquoring Dusts particularly the brighter liquoring types which advanced following quality often by Tk 05 to Tk 07.
Others were also a touch dearer with hardly any withdrawals. Blenders lent strong support with fair interest from the Loose tea buyers.
