'Meet Bangladesh Exposition' draws strong buyer interest

The two-day Meet Bangladesh Exposition (MBX) ended on Friday with enthusiasm from the buyers to source Bangladeshi products, as some manufacturers had already received orders, reports UNB.
The MBX was organised to showcase Bangladesh's potential export sectors: Medical and Personal Protective Equipment (MPPE), Leather and Leather Goods, Footwear, Plastics, and Light Engineering.
The event took place at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) and was organised as part of the EC4J Project (Export Competitiveness for Jobs) in collaboration with the Ministry of Commerce and the World Bank, aimed at positioning Bangladesh as a preferred sourcing destination for global markets.
Bangladeshi manufacturers gained valuable insights about their sectors and how to export their products to world markets by joining various seminars during the exposition, the organisers claimed.
The event hosted over 120 local exhibitors, more than 25 foreign buyers from Singapore, Libya, Colombia, Algeria, the UAE, India, Malaysia, Bhutan, the Maldives, and other countries, and over 1,000 local buyers, providing a unique platform for Bangladeshi manufacturers to showcase their products and connect with global buyers, investors, and industry leaders.
This provided direct exposure to many international buyers and networking opportunities with sector leaders and policymakers. Exhibitors at the EC4J project also had the exclusive opportunity to participate in factory visits to prominent manufacturers.
The expo featured breakout sessions and workshops that engaged industry experts and business leaders in insightful discussions. The event also spotlighted a gala dinner and cultural shows.
