Emirates airline announced its plans to launch services to Multan in Pakistan, beginning August 1, 2015. Thus, Multan will be airline's sixth destination in Pakistan, says a press release in Dhaka.

Service to Multan, Pakistan's fifth largest city by population, will commence with four weekly flights operated by a Boeing 777-300 in a two-class configuration - 54 seats in Business Class and 310 in Economy Class.

The aircraft can carry up to 23 tonnes of cargo, opening up many more trade opportunities in the region.

Meanwhile, Emirates increased its frequency to Karachi from July 1 bringing the total number of flights to the city to 47 a week.

Pakistan is the Emirates fourth most highly served country worldwide with 80 return flights a week operating between Dubai and Pakistan.

Emirates presently operates to Karachi, Peshawar, Lahore, Islamabad and Sialkot.
