Moinuddin gets promotion as Sonali Bank GM
Mohammad Moinuddin has joined the Chattagram General Manager's office of Sonali Bank Limited as General Manager (GM) after being promoted. Mr Moinuddin worked in London and Jedda branches of the bank. He also served in bank's Staff College as a trainer. He performed duties in the bank's different departments at the head office. Mr Moinuddin hails from Fatikchhari upazila of Chattagram district. He obtained MSc degree from Chattagram University in mathematics and joined the bank in 1964 as a senior officer. — Press Release

ASEAN forecasts strong Brunei economic display
BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, May 06: Brunei is considered as one of the improving economies in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) region in the next two years, according to local daily the Borneo Bulletin on Saturday, quoting the latest ASEAN+3 Macroeconomic Research Office (AMRO) report. ASEAN+3 includes 10 ASEAN economies and three other large economies, namely China, Japan and South Korea. — Xinhua

Tehran prefers reasonable oil price, says minister
DUBAI, May 06: Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Zangeneh said on Sunday that Tehran preferred a "reasonable" crude oil price to avoid market instability, the ministry's news agency Shana reported. Zangeneh said that reasonable oil prices would "encourage producers to keep supply while it would prevent global markets from plunging into instability," according to Shana. He added that "manufactured tensions" were the reason behind the current rise in oil prices. — Reuters
