NRB investors \\\"bilked\\\" by Dhaka Regency Hotel

Foreign investors of Bangladeshi origin have alleged that the Dhaka Regency Hotel and Resort has cheated them in the hotel stakes in their fund worth Tk 500 million.
A total of 120 non-resident Bangladeshi investors organised a press briefing on Monday at the Dhaka Reporters Unity seeking the government's intervention in getting back the stakes in the Dhaka Regency Hotel and Resort.
 The alleged that Kabir Reza, chairman of the Dhaka Regency are "harassing" the NRB investors who are demanding stakes.
"120 NRBs invested Tk 500 million in Dhaka Regency Hotel and Resort following the ads of print and electronic media in UK. Such investors were confirmed by proving ID cards and assurance made through company pad," said a written statement of Mohammad Ashraful Islam, an UK based NRB.
Dhaka Regency Hotel and Resort submitted its IPO (initial public offering) proposal in 2011.
Reaction from Kabir Reza was not immediately available.
