Prices witness sharper decline

Prices witnessed a sharper decline this week with all varieties casing quite considerably. The major blender continued to operate for the usual requirement but there was much less interest from all others including the loose tea buyers.
Dusts witnessed an easier market following less competition.
CTC LEAF: 17,523 packages and 234 packages of old season teas on offer met with much less demand at much cheaper rates.
BROKENS: BOPs met with a fair demand declining by upto Tk 10, selling between Tk. 190 and Tk, 198. All others also eased by a similar margin and sometimes more than that.
FANNINGS: Good Fannings met with a fair demand but eased by upto Tk. 10 and more. These were sold between Tk. 192 and Tk 197. Medium and plainer varieties were also an easier market but registered a slightly lesser decline.
CTC DUST: 4,696 packages and one package of old season teas on offer met with a little less demand at cheaper rates. Good liquoring varieties eased by upto Tk. 10 and these were sold between Tk. 200 and Tk. 210 for the RDs and Ds. Corresponding CDs were also an easier market with the good lines selling between Tk. 240 and Tk.260. Blenders lent fairly good support with some interest from the loose tea buyers.
