RAJSHAHI, Jan 06: The divisional annual conference of Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank (RAKUB) was held at Rajshahi University in Rajshahi on Monday.
Over 200 officials of the bank participated in the conference, with Chairman of the bank Prof Dr Mohammad Ali as the chief guest.
RAKUB Managing Director Niranjan Chandra Debnath, Deputy Managing Director Md Abdur Rahim, and General Manager (operation division) Tajuddin Ahamed addressed the conference as special guests while General Manager (administration division) Atikul Islam presided over the meeting.
Besides, RU Vice-Chancellor Prof Saleh Hasan Naqib and Pro-Vice-Chancellors Prof Main Uddin and Prof Farid Uddin Khan were present as guests of honour.
The officials told the conference that the specialised bank posted an operational profit of Tk 1.175 billion in 2024 while deposits and loans stood at Tk 70.9 billion and Tk 78.7 billion respectively, up from Tk 67.02 billion and Tk 75.83 billion respectively.
During the same period, classified loans at the branch level came down to Tk 12.77 billion, reflecting improved loan recovery efforts.
According to the officials, RAKUB achieved a net profit of Tk 29.8 million in the last fiscal year, the first in 37 years. The bank has set a target to achieve Tk 1.0 billion in profit for the upcoming fiscal.
The conference was jointly conducted by RAKUB Rajshahi District Branch Manager Mohammad Iqbal Hossain and senior officer Iffat Jahan Eva.
