Robusta coffee prices ease slightly

LONDON, June 10 (Reuters): Robusta coffee futures on ICE were marginally lower on Monday as the market consolidated below last week's record high with slow exports from Vietnam ensuring supplies remained tight.

September robusta coffee fell 0.1 per cent to $4,123 a tonne by 1108 GMT. The market had risen last week to a record high of $4,394.

Dealers said a sharp slowdown in exports in May from top robusta producer Vietnam had helped to tighten supplies.

They noted speculators were continuing to build net long positions in both robusta and arabica coffee.

September arabica coffee fell 0.3 per cent to $2.2415 per lb.

Dealers said there continued to be concern about small beans as the harvest in top grower Brazil progresses.

Meanwhile, July raw sugar was up 0.9 per cent at 19.17 cents per lb.

August white sugar rose 1.3 per cent to $560.70 a tonne.
