Rotana Jet starts Abu Dhabi flight

CHITTAGONG, Jul 3: Rotana Jet, an Abu Dhabi-based airline, has launched passenger flights between Chittagong and Abu Dhabi of the United Arab Emirates from July 2.

A flight with 89 passengers landed at Chittagong Shah Amanat International Airport on Thursday night. The passengers and crews of the flight were received cordially at the airport by senior officials of the airline, the airport authority and other guests.

Manager of Chittagong International Airport Wing Commander Nur E Alam was present on the occasion as the chief guest. He hoped that the new airline would provide better service to the passengers.

Sheltech Group's sister concern Speedy International Ltd is the general sales agent (GSA) of the airline in Bangladesh. Its director and CEO Sheikh Bashir Ahmed Mamun, captain of the flight and DGM Mesbah Ul Huq addressed the function.

They said Rotana Jet will operate three Abu Dhabi-Chittagong-Abu Dhabi flights on every Sunday, Monday and Thursday. The flights from Abu Dhabi will land at Chittagong airport at 8.00 pm, and leave for Abu Dhabi at 9.00 pm on those days.

Currently Rotana Jet is operating three flights between Dhaka and Abu Dhabi on every Saturday, Tuesday and Thursday. The passengers can also travel to other destinations like Doha, Bahrain, Muscat, Beirut, Kuwait and Sri Lanka with the airline.

Biman Bangladesh Airlines station manager Bazlul Kabir Solaimani, head of sales of Rotana Jet Geetha Ravindranath, director Junate Hossen and station manager Roni Chowdhury were also present on the occasion.
