SCB chairman to attend Global Maritime Summit

Md Rezaul Karim, Chairman, Shippers' Council of Bangladesh (SCB), will attend the 'Global Maritime India Summit-2023' to be held in Mumbai, India, on October 17-19.

He will leave Dhaka for Mumbai today (Monday). SCB Director KM Arifuzzaman will accompany him, says a press release.

Organised by the Indian Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways, the conference will be inaugurated by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The conference will discuss various issues such as 'Developing Ports for the Future -- Accelerated Shift towards Smart, Safe & Sustainable, Green Shipping & Ports', 'Fast-tracking Decarbonisation of Maritime Sector', 'Focus on Maritime Safety & Security', 'Emerging Technologies in Maritime Sector' and 'Shipbuilding and Ship Repair'.
