US-Bangla Airlines is set to launch its domestic flights on two more routes-Dhaka-Barisal and Dhaka-Rajshahi-on July 10 and 11 respectively.

On the Dhaka-Barisal route, the private carrier will have two-way flights on Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday while on the Dhaka-Rajshahi route on Saturday, Monday and Wednesday.

Mohammed Abdullah Al Mamun, managing director of US-Bangla Airlines, said this at a press conference at a city hotel Sunday.

The flights on the two routes will take 25 minutes and 30 minutes respectively, he said.

"We have primarily set the one-way airfare at Tk 3,200, including value added tax (VAT) on both the routes," Mr Mamun said.

Starting its flights on July 17 last year, the US-Bangla Airlines is currently operating six flights on Dhaka-Chittagong route, two flights on Dhaka-Jessore and Dhaka-Syedpur routes each and one flight on Dhaka-Cox's Bazar and Dhaka-Sylhet routes each.

"In the last one year, we have operated more than 5,000 flights on the domestic routes. At present, we are carrying 45 per cent passengers on the domestic routes," said the managing director.

The carrier is operating a total of 26 flights on different routes in the country.

"We have plans to introduce fights on the international routes by this year," he said.

Expressing the hope to render timely services in carrying passengers, Mr Mamun said they are providing transportation services to their passengers from the airports in Chittagong, Jessore, Barisal and Rajshahi to help them reach their destinations.

It is planning to launch such services from the airport in Dhaka soon.
