Wheat procurement drive going on in Chuadanga

CHUADANGA, May 18 (BSS):The wheat procurement drive in all four upazilas of the district is going on in full swing.

The four upazilas of the district are Chuadanga Sadar, Alamdanga, Damurhuda and Jibannagar.

Chuadanga district food department office source said till May 17 a total of 2, 295 tonnes of wheat have been procured from all the four upazilas of the district as against the target of 3, 266 metric tons during this season.

Of the total wheat procured so far, 185 metric tons have been procured from Chuadanga Sadar upazila, 667 tonnes from Alamdanga upazila, 600 metric tons from Damurhuda upazila and 840 metric tons from Jibannagar upazila.

The procurement drive of wheat will continue till June 30. A total of five purchasing centers were opened in the district for procurement of wheat during the season.

The procurement drive of wheat in the current season began here from the first day of April, the source further said.
