WORKSHOP ON 'SAFETY STANDARDS FOR DOMESTIC GAS COOKING APPLIANCES'

Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI), Bangladesh Petroleum, Gas, and Mineral Resources Corporation (Petrobangla), and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) jointly held an awareness workshop titled 'Safety standards for domestic gas cooking appliances' in Dhaka on Sunday. The main objective of the event was to reduce gas-related accidents and strengthen public safety. Md. Rezanur Rahman, Director (Planning) of Petrobangla, was present as the chief guest while Hoe Yan Jeong, Country Director of the ADB, and Chris Evans, specialist in International Gas Appliances Safety Standards, were present as special guests. The workshop was chaired by BSTI Director (Standards) Md Saidul Islam.
