World Standards Day tomorrow

The 54th World Standards Day will be observed tomorrow (Saturday). The theme of the day this year is 'Shared vision for a better world - Standards for SDGs'.
The day will be celebrated all over the world as well as in Bangladesh. President Mohammed Shahabuddin, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Industry Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun, State Minister for Industries Kamal Ahmed Majumder and Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Industries Zakia Sultana have given separate messages on the occasion.
On the purpose of the World Standards Day 2023 Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) has organized several programmes as a national standards body. BSTI has organized discussions at its head office, regional and district offices as part of this programme. Bangladesh Television and Bangladesh Betar will telecast special programmes about this purpose. On the other hand, different important places of the capital city are being decorated with banners, festoons and placards.
The BSTI will organize a discussion on Thursday at 11:00 am at its Head Office in Tejgaon Industrial Area. Industry Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun will be present as chief guest of the programme. State Minister for Industry Kamal Ahmed Majumder, Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Industries Zakia Sultana and President of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) Mahbubul Alam will be present as special guests. Director General (Grade-1) of BSTI Md. Abdus Sattar will preside over the discussion.
