Yeijer Shoe Parts to invest $5m in EPZ

BEPZA Executive Director (Investment Promotion) Md Tanvir Hossain and Yeijer Shoe Parts Managing Director Xia Ruihong signed an agreement on behalf of their respective organisations at the BEPZA Complex in Dhaka on Wednesday. BEPZA Executive Chairman Major General Mohammad Moazzem Hossain was also present.

Yeijer Shoe Parts (BD) Ltd, a company-based in Samoa-China (Taiwan), has signed a land lease agreement with the Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) to set up a footwear and footwear accessories manufacturing facility at Cumilla Export Processing Zone (EPZ), reports UNB.

The company will invest US$ 5.03 million for the production of insoles, outsoles, midsoles, and polyurethane (PU) shoes.

BEPZA Executive Chairman Major General Mohammad Moazzem Hossain witnessed the signing ceremony.

As per the deal, the company will produce 3.0 million pairs of insoles, 1.2 million pairs of outsoles, and 3.2 million pairs of midsoles and 1.0 million pairs of PU shoes annually.

The company is expected to create employment opportunities for 500 Bangladeshi nationals.
