$256.78m remittance received in 7 days

The country received $256.78 million in remittance during the first six days of the current month of February, reports UNB.
Bangladesh Bank statistics show the four state-owned commercial banks -- Agrani, Janata, Rupali and Sonali -- received $92.65 million from the expatriate Bangladeshis while four state-owned specialized banks received $4.32 million. The maximum remittance came through the private commercial banks who received $164.69 million while the 9 foreign banks received only $4.33 million. Among the private commercial banks, Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited (IBBL) got the highest remittance of $49.66 million, followed by National Bank Limited (NBL) with $14.69 million. Of the state-owned banks, Agrani Bank received $34.61 million, Sonali Bank $30.70 million, Janata Bank $24.06 million and Rupali Bank 3.28 million. — UNB
