26 firms win National Productivity, Quality Excellence Award

Some 26 companies have won the National Productivity and Quality Excellence Award-2020 for their contribution in the national economy by establishing industrial units and thus creating jobs.

The Ministry of Industries has selected the enterprises under five categories - large, medium, small, micro and state-owned. In this regard, the ministry issued a gazette on Sunday with names of the winners.

From the food and beverage manufacturing sector, International Beverages Private Limited secured the first position while Habiganj Agro ranked second.

Fair Electronics Limited won the first position from the steel and engineering sector under the large industry category, while Sheltech (pvt) Limited secured the second position and Runner Automobiles Limited third.

From the same sector under the medium industry category, Silvan Technologies Ltd won the first position.

From large textile and readymade garment enterprises, Envoy Textiles Limited secured the first position. In this sector, MM Ispahani Limited, Pahartali Textile and Hosiery Mills shared the second place, while Karooni Composite Limited won the third position. Maskotex Ltd ranked first while Index Accessories Ltd secured the second spot in the same sector under the medium industry category.

From large enterprises in the service sector, Nitol Insurance Company Limited secured the first position, while Mir Telecom Limited and Digicon Technologies Ltd won the second and third position, respectively.

In the IT sector under the large industry category, Service Engine Ltd won the first position, while Millennium Information Solution Ltd secured the first position in the same sector under the medium industry category.

Premier Cement Mills Ltd ranked the first position in the chemical sector under the large industry category, while Kohinoor Chemical Company (Bangladesh) Ltd and Square Toiletries Ltd secured the second and third position, respectively.

Under the medium industry category in the chemical sector, BRB Polymer Ltd and GME Agro Ltd won first and second position.

From small industries, Ahmed Food Products ranked first, while Tohfa Enterprise and Jarmartz Ltd secured second and third position respectively.

Under the micro industry category, Super Star Electronics Ltd secured the first position, while Eastern Tubes Ltd won the same under the state-owned industry category.

Dhaka Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry won the institutional appreciation award.
