27 BD missions fail to achieve export targets in July-Nov

Twenty-seven of 53 Bangladesh missions abroad have failed to achieve their respective export targets for the July-November period of the current fiscal (2014-15). The key Bangladesh missions like the ones in Washington, Berlin, London, Paris, Madrid, Ottawa, Rome and the Hague have failed to achieve their July-November export targets while some other important missions – Stockholm, Tokyo, Canberra and New Delhi – have been able to reach their targets for the five-month period. The overall export earnings for the period amounted to $ 12,070.08 million against the strategic target of $ 12,735.52m, showing a fall of 5.23 per cent over the strategic target. Of the 53 Bangladesh missions, 26 met their respective export targets set for the period, according to the latest statistics provided by the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB), reports UNB.
