3-day int\\\'l tourism fair begins Friday

The three-day international 'Bangladesh Tourism and Travel Fair (BTTF-2014)' begins in the city on Friday (May 30) to promote the country's tourism sector, reports agencies.

Tour Operators' Association of Bangladesh (TOAB) will arrange the fair for the fifth consecutive time at the Bangabandhu International Conference Centre.

Public and private tourism institutions from various countries, including India, Nepal, Bhutan, Thailand and Malaysia, will take part in the fair, said a media release on Tuesday.

Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed will inaugurate the fair as the chief guest on May 30 while Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Rashed Khan Menon will remain present as the chief guest at the closing session on June 1. It was disclosed Tuesday at a press conference organised by TOAB at a city hotel.

A seminar titled 'Memorials of Liberation War and Our Tourism' and a discussion titled 'Tourism and Skilled Workforce' will be held on the sidelines of the fair on Friday and Sunday respectively.

A total of 100 organisations, both from home and abroad, will participate in the fair with their tourism products.
