37 BARI school students get scholarships

Director General of Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute (BARI) Dr. Abul Kalam Azad and other directors seen at the money and certificates distribution ceremony of Ummeara Smriti Fund for the students of BARI High School in Gazipur on Wednesday


Meritorious students of different classes of BARI High School have received scholarship money and certificates at the Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute (BARI) in Gazipur.
A total of 37 students were awarded with the scholarship this year for their outstanding performances.
The money and certificates distribution ceremony of the Ummeara Smriti Fund was held at the seminar room of the FMPE Division of BARI on Wednesday.
BARI Director General Dr. Abul Kalam Azad was present as the chief guest at the award-giving ceremony and handed over money and certificates to the recipients.
BARI Director (Support Service) and President of the Ummeara memorial fund Dr. Madan Gopal Saha presided over the function where Director (Research) Md. Abdul Wahab and Director (Planning and Evaluation) Dr. Babu Lal Nag were present as special guests.
Senior scientists, officials and employees of BARI, teachers and students of the school and guardians were also present at the programme.
Scientific Officer of Irrigation and Water Management division and Member Secretary of the fund Dr. Khokon Kumar Sarkar gave PowerPoint presentation on various aspects of the fund.
