4 state-owned banks sign Tk 30.55b loan agreement for power plant

Four state-owned banks -- Sonali Bank, Janata Bank, Agrani Bank and Rupali Bank -- signed a synidication project loan facility agreement with the Unique Meghnaghat Power Limited at a city hotel on Tuesday. Zaid Bakht, chairmnan of Agrani Bank, the lead arranger of the loan, was present at the signing ceremony as the chief guest. Managing directors of the four banks were also present.

A synidication project loan facility agreement was signed between the Unique Meghnaghat Power Limited and four state-owned banks -- Sonali Bank, Janata Bank, Agrani Bank and Rupali Bank -- at a city hotel on Tuesday.
Agrani Bank Limited is the lead arranger and agent bank of the syndicated loan of over Tk 30.55 billion for a 584 MW Combined Cycle Power Plant being built at Sonargaon in Narayanganj under a private scheme.
The power plant project of the Unique Meghnaghat Power Limited involves a total of over Tk 40.73 billion.
General Manager (credit) of Agrani Bank Abdullah Al Mamun and other general managers of the three other banks and Managing Director of Unique Meghnaghat Power Limited Chowdhury Nafis Sarafat signed the loan agreement.
Agrani Bank Chairman Zaid Bakht was present at the signing ceremony as the chief guest.
Managing Director & CEO of Agrani Bank Mohammad Shams-Ul Islam, Managing Director & CEO of Sonali Bank Ataur Rahman Prodhan, Managing Director & CEO of Janata Bank Md Abdus Salam Azad, Managing Director & CEO of Rupali bank Md. Obayed Ullah Al Masud and Chairman of Unique Meghnaghat Power Limited Md Noor Ali were also present.
