50kWp Grid Tied Solar Project to be set up on rooftop of Secretariat

Dhaka Power Distri-bution Company Limited (DPDC) and Rahimafrooz Renewable Energy Limited (RREL) have recently signed an agreement for installation of '50kWp Grid Tied Solar Project' on the rooftop of Bangladesh Secretariat under the power purchase agreement (PPA).

Managing director of RREL Munawar Misbah Moin and Superintending Engineer (Contracts and Procurem ent) of DPDC Engr Sanjit Kumar Ghose inked the deal on behalf of their respective organisations, said a press statement.

RREL will design, install, operate and maintain the project for 20 years backed up by high-standard Photovoltaic materials and technology.

The system will generate 75 mw hours of electricity per year and reduce carbon emission of 50 tonnes (approx) annually and in 20 years 1000 tonnes (approx) will be reduced.

Additional Secretary & Chairman of the board of directors of DPDC Tapos Kupar Roy and Managing Director Brig Gen Md Nazrul Hasan (retd) and high officials of RREL were also present on the occasion.
