7,000 families get solar power in Panchagarh

PANCHAGARH, Apr 23 (BSS):  About 7,000 families, especially of rural areas, in five upazilas of the district have been brought under solar power supply network by Grameen Shakti, a non-government organisation.
Use of solar power will change lifestyle and socio-economic condition of the beneficiary households. They can watch television, use fans and bulbs and charge mobile phone sets.
We can use at least 4 to 5 energy bulbs and two ceiling fans by a solar panel and it is being sold at Tk 18,000 - Tk 25,000, said manager of Grameen Shakti, Panchagarh unit, Sarwar Hossain.
