A K Azad re-elected SJIBL chairman

Mr. A. K. Azad was unanimously reelected as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Shahjalal Islami Bank Limited in its 217th meeting of the Board of Directors held Thursday. In the same meeting, Alhaj Mohammad Younus and Alhaj Md. Abdul Barek were reelected unanimously as the Vice Chairmen of the Board of Directors of the bank. Mr. A. K. Azad is the Managing Director of Ha-Meem Group of industries, a renowned conglomerate in the country. He is also President of Bangladesh Chamber of Industries (BCI) and former president of FBCCI. Mr A. K. Azad was born in 1959 in a respectable Muslim Family in Faridpur. After receiving Honours Degree in Applied Physics from University of Dhaka, he concentrated in jute, textile, tea and RMG businesses.Mr. Azad is also the Managing Director of Channel 24 and the Daily Samakal, said a statement.
