Mohammad Abdul Mannan, Chairman of First Security Islami Bank PLC, has been elected the Chairman of the Central Shariah Board for Islamic Banks of Bangladesh (CSBIB) at the 69th meeting of the Shariah Board's Executive Committee.
The meeting was held at the boardroom of the head office of First Security Islami Bank recently, says a statement.
Mr Mannan is serving as the Chairman of the Islamic Banks Consultative Forum and Vice Chairman of the Bangladesh Association of Banks (BAB).
He had also served as Managing Director and CEO of Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC for three consecutive terms from 2010 to 2017.
He received the 'Central Shariah Board Islamic Banking Award' and the 'Asian Banker CEO Leadership Achievement Award' as the best CEO for the years 2013, 2014 and 2015 among 11,500 CEOs of banks in the Asia Pacific and Gulf region.
In addition, he has received various national and international awards, including the 'Remittance Ambassador of Bangladesh Award' and the 'Sardar Patel Award' from India.
