Abdur Rouf joins as secretary to textiles and jute ministry

Md Abdur Rouf joined as secretary to the Ministry of Textiles and Jute on Monday, says a press release.

Mr Rouf belongs to the batch of 11th BCS (administration) cadre officers. He did his BSc (honours) and MSc in Agricultural Economics from Bangladesh Agricultural University, and MBA from Bangladesh Open University.

Abdur Rouf was the chairman of Bangladesh Jute Mills Corporation (BJMC).

During his career, he worked as assistant commissioner and magistrate, assistant commissioner (Land), senior assistant commissioner, upazila nirbahi officer (UNO), and additional deputy commissioner in the field administration.

He also served as deputy secretary, joint secretary and additional secretary to the Policy Support Unit Project of the Local Government Division under the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives.
