Bangladesh Bank has promoted GM Abul Kalam Azad to the post of executive director (Ex-Cadre Publications), according to a statement.
The Human Resources Department of the central bank issued an office order in this regard on Wednesday.
Prior to his new assignment, GM Abul Kalam Azad served as assistant spokesperson and director of the central bank's Department of Commu-nications and Publications.
Abul Kalam Azad joined Bangladesh Bank in 1992 as an assistant director.
He also worked with the Research Department, Monetary Policy Depart-ment, and Governor's Secretariat.
Mr Azad, hailing from Jashore Sadar upazila, is an executive adviser of a Jashore-based organisation-Bhatai-Nurjahan Orphan Friend (VNOF).
