Abul Khair launches dietary supplement for mothers

CHITTAGONG, May 12: Abul Khair Group has launched Profom nutrition supplement market to ensure balanced nutrition for pregnant and new mothers on the occasion of the International Mother's Day.

Mr Chowdhury said his company's new supplementary diet Profom will not only ensure nutrition during pregnancy, also in the post-pregnancy period.

The nutritionist said women will have to take enough calorie during pregnancy and the intake should be increased during breast feeding as well. New mothers should have extra 200 calorie everyday during that time.

This extra calorie should be taken through having balanced and nourishing food, she said.

Mother's Smile, one of the brands of Abul Khair Group, has introduced this nutrition supplement for the mothers keeping this in mind.

Profom contains calcium, DHA, folic acid, iron, 20 types of vitamins and minerals, which will meet the deficiency of vitamin in mother's body and supply calorie and mineral, the group's senior executive said.

Ms Chowdhury said that physical and mental health of pregnant mothers influences the growth of baby. So mothers will have to be physically and mentally sound during that time.
