ACC grills ex-Rajuk chief

The Anti-corruption Commission (ACC) interrogated Sunday former chairman of Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (Rajuk) Nurul Huda and four others over alleged irregularities in plot allocation to former housing secretary Khondaker Shawkat Hossain.
ACC Deputy Director, also Investigation Officer of the case, Jaton Kumar Roy grilled him from 10am to 4pm at the Commission's headquarters in the city, Public Relations Officer of the ACC Pranab Kumar Bhattachariya told reporters.
The other four officials were Director General of Non-Formal Education Bureau Akhter Hossain Bhuiyan (former DCC North administrator), Joint Secretary of Water Resources Ministry Khijir Ahmed, Joint Secretary of Food Ministry Mahbub Ul Alam (then Rajuk member, development) and Additional Secretary Anwarul Islam Shikder (former Rajuk member, planning).
Earlier on February 27, the anti-graft body quizzed Nurul Huda for alleged irregularities in plot allocation in Purbachal, Uttara Residential and Uttara Extension projects.
On April 22, the ACC filed three separate cases against Expatriate Welfare Secretary Khandaker Shawkat Hossain for allegedly allotting plots to his wife, mother and himself by abusing power.
