ACC probing Gulshan land grab

The Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) has started an investigation into illegal occupation of one bigha of government land worth more than Tk 1.0 billion in Gulshan.
ACC Deputy Director SM Rafiqul Islam sent letters on Wednesday to House Building Finance Corporation and Janata Bank Mohakhali Branch seeking necessary information about the plot in the posh area of the city.
SM Rafiqul Islam, who is also the investigation officer, asked the two organisations to provide information by July 12.
According to available primary information, some corrupt officials of RAJUK (Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha) have encroached Plot Number-NW, J-5, Road 51, Gulshan-2 in the name of a fake person.
ACC would later summon a number of RAJUK officials in this connection.
