ADB team visits BD-Korea Technical Training Centre

ADB President Masatsugu Asakawa visited Bangladesh-Korea Technical Training Centre in Dhaka recently.

A high-level delegation of Asian Development Bank (ADB) led by its President Masatsugu Asakawa visited the Bangladesh-Korea Technical Training Centre (BK-TTC) in the city recently to witness training programmes under the Skills for Employment Investment Programme (SEIP).

During the visit, the delegation met with officials from the Bureau of Manpower, Employment and Training (BMET), Bangladesh-Korea Technical Training Centre (BK-TTC), SEIP, and government representatives.

Senior Secretary of the Finance Division Fatima Yasmin and Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment Dr Ahmed Munirus Saleheen were also present.

ADB President Masatsugu Asakawa said developing skills training is crucial for the country's economic progress.

He also assured that ADB would continue to support the country's resilient, sustainable and inclusive development.

Senior Secretary of the Finance Division Fatima Yasmin highlighted the successful implementation of the SEIP project in providing industry-demand-driven skills training and said SEIP has brought total reforms in the skills development ecosystem.

The training courses offered by SEIP are aligned with industry needs and after completion of the training, SEIP graduates are placed in the job market, she added.

Executive Project Director of the SEIP project Fatema Rahim Veena presented the project's achievements, accomplishments, and uniqueness in participation of public, private, and NGOs.
