Akij Food and Beverages Ltd. (AFBL) on Tuesday relaunched its flagship fruit drink 'Frutika' with new packaging at a programme styled 'purity unveiling ceremony' at a local hotel.
Chairman of Akij Group of Industries Sheikh Nasir Uddin, AFBL head of marketing Maidul Islam were, among others, present at the function.
Respecting the customer's confidence and trust in the brand, Frutika has been relaunched with the new and attractive packaging, Mr. Nasir said. AFBL has launched 'Frutika' drinks in 2007.
He said AFBL has made fresh investment to install state-of-the-art machinery to make the production process more safe and free of touch of the hands. Akij is committed to provide quality products to its valued customers, he added.
AFBL officials said that the company has made an investment of Tk 3.0 billion to restructure the drink manufacturing factory with the aseptic system to meet the growing demand for preservative-and germ-free drink.
Aseptic processing is a processing technique wherein commercially thermally sterilized liquid products are packaged into previously sterilized containers under sterile conditions to produce shelf-stable products that do not need refrigeration.
They said the current aseptic fruit drink machine can blow, sanitize, disinfect, fill, seal and finally label 54,000 bottles per hour. To sum up, it can produce 1,296,000 pieces aseptically filled 250ml PET bottles per day.
