Air Astra now IATA member

Air Astra, the youngest carrier in Bangladesh, has become a member airline of the International Air Transport Association (IATA).

Sakib Hasan Shovo, deputy manager (public relations) of the Astra Airways Limited, issued a press release to this effect on Wednesday.

IATA's mission is to represent, lead and serve the airline industry and it is the collective voice of more than 340 airlines from over 120 countries worldwide.

Its vision is to work together to shape the future growth of a safe, secure and sustainable air transport industry that connects and enriches our world.

Air Astra has expressed its commitment to ensuring the right of passengers to travel safely and comfortably by being recognised as an IATA member airline within two years of commercial operations, reads the release.

"It's with immense pride that Air Astra joins the ranks of IATA," said Imran Asif, chief executive officer of the airline.

"IATA airline membership represents a significant milestone in our journey, and a testament to the unwavering dedication of our entire team."

"This collaboration strengthens our commitment to providing our passengers with a world-class travel experience, while upholding the highest global standards in air travel," added the CEO.
