Ajay Kumar Chakraborty new chairman of BREB

Ajay Kumar Chakraborty, Additional Secretary, has been appointed as Chairman of Bangladesh Rural Electrification Board (BREB).
The Ministry of Public Administration issued a circular to this effect on December 27, says a press release.
Ajay Kumar Chakraborty paid tributes to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by placing a wreath on the portrait of Bangabandhu at Dhanmondi-32 on January 01 after joining the BREB.
Later, he placed a wreath at the tomb of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Tungipara in Gopalganj.
BREB Board Member (Administration) Md Hasan Maruf and General Manager of Gopalganj Palli Biddut Samity Md Zulfikar Rahman along with other officials were present at the programme.
Ajay Kumar Chakraborty started his career in Public Works Directorate as Assistant Engineer in Public Works Cadre (15th BCS) in 1995.
While working in Public Works Department, he served in Khulna, Bangladesh Public Administration Training Centre in Savar, Cox's Bazar, Tangail, Rajshahi and Dhaka.
He was promoted as additional secretary in 2023 and Joint Secretary in 2019. He was deputy secretary to the Ministry of Public Administration in 2012.
