Alam made BB GM

Jahangir Alam has recently been promoted to the post of general manager (GM) of Bangladesh Bank (BB) and posted in Expenditure Management Department-1, said a press release.

Mr Alam started his banking career joining Bangladesh Bank as an assistant director in 1988.

In his long banking career, he worked in various departments of BB including Department of Administration and Expenditure, Accounting and Budgeting Department, Forex Reserve and Treasury Management Department, Department of Currency Management, Foreign Currency Inspection and Vigilance Department, Department of Banking Inspection -1.

Mr Alam also served the BB's Khulna office for two years.

He visited South Korea, Cambodia and many other countries for official purposes.
