Amu seeks Canadian help to strengthen BAB

Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu has urged the Canadian Association for Laboratory Accreditation (CALA) to help Bangladesh Accreditation Board (BAB) strengthen its capability. The minister made the call while visiting CALA office at Ottawa, the capital of Canada, on Thursday, according to a message received in the city on Friday. Observing the activities of CALA, the minister said though BAB is a newly-founded organisation, it has already achieved the membership of Asia Pacific Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (APLAC). CALA chief executive officer Charles Brimley, Industries and Energy Division member under the Planning Commission SM Golam Faruk and Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) director general Iqramul Haque were also present. — UNB
