Amu to open 3 expos at BICC Sept 3

Three expositions named 15th Textech Bangladesh, 8th Dhaka International Yarn and Fabric and 18th Dye+Chem Bangladesh 2014 Expo will kick off at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC) on September 3.

Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu is expected to inaugurate the expos as chief guest while Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) President Md Atiqul Islam, Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA) President AKM Selim Osman and Korean Ambassador in Bangladesh Lee Yun-Young will attend the inaugural ceremony as special guests.

CEMS-Global USA and Asia Pacific managing director Meherun N Islam announced this at a press conference at the National Press Club on Tuesday. CEMS-Global USA and Asia Pacific will organise the expos.

The expos will showcase textile and garment machinery, accessories, dyes and chemicals and international yarn and fabrics till September 6.

Nearly 500 exhibitors from over 15 countries including Bangladesh, China, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Italy, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, the United Kingdom and the USA will take part in the expos.

There will be around 760 stalls at these expos. The four- day long expos will remain open from 10:30 am to 7:30 pm. There will be no entry fee for the visitors. But they have to register their names at the expo venue.  

Besides, Texapp Bangladesh 2014, a forum of Bangladesh textile and apparel, will be held from 2:30 pm to 6:30 pm on the first day of the expo. The forum will bring together textile and apparel industry leaders and machinery importers under one roof.

It will set a stage for local textile and apparel industry and machinery importers to focus, discuss, decide and set goals for the future of their exports from South Asia to the world.
