Aramit PLC, a unit of Aramit Group, a leading industrial conglomerate of the country based in Chattogram, approved a 25 per cent final cash dividend for the year ended June 30, 2023.

The approval was made by the shareholders in the 52nd Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the company held on a digital platform on Saturday, said a press release.

The meeting was presided over by SM Alamgir Chowdhury, Chairman and Independent Director of the company.

It was disclosed in the meeting that the company earned a net profit before Income Tax of Tk 32.09 million and net profit after Income Tax of Tk 24.07 million for the year ended June 30, 2023.

The company contributed Tk 46.14 million to the national exchequer in the form of Customs Duty, Income Tax and Value Added Tax during the year.

The shareholders expressed their satisfaction for consistent rate of payment of dividend to them by the company. Finally, the shareholders approved a 25 per cent cash dividend, annual financial statements along with the report of the auditors and the directors thereon, for the year ended June 30, 2023.

Meanwhile, the 27th annual general meeting (AGM) of Aramit Cement PLC, one of the reputed cement manufacturers of the country, situated at 53, Kalurghat Heavy Industrial Estate, Mohara, Chattogram, was held on a digital platform on Saturday.

The meeting was presided over by SM Alamgir Chowdhury, Chairman & Independent Director of the Company, said a press release.

Among others, the meeting was attended by Independent Director Warasuzzaman Chowdhury, Company Secretary Syed Kamruzzaman and Chief Financial Officer Muhammed Shah Alam along with a good number of shareholders.

During the year 2022-23, the company sold 20,773.38 MT cement amounting to Tk 135.12 million and on the other hand exported 1,789.66 MT cement to Export Processing Zones (EPZ) and the company contributed an amount of Tk 59.80 million to the national exchequer in the form of Customs Duty, Value Added Tax and Income Tax.

The shareholders approved directors' report, audited financial statements and auditors' report thereon for the year ended June 30, 2023.
