Arrange dist-level training to foster young entrepreneurs

The Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) has suggested that the government organise comprehensive training sessions at the district level to foster new young entrepreneurs for the betterment of the country's economy.

The apex trade body also emphasized the need to arrange spaces where young entrepreneurs can showcase their products and services, and called for introducing a system so that they can obtain licences under a single umbrella for opening businesses.

The FBCCI made the recommendations at a meeting of its 'standing committee on young entrepreneur affairs' at its Motijheel office in the capital on Monday.

FBCCI President Mahbubul Alam, who participated in the meeting virtually, called upon the young entrepreneurs to work with honesty and dedication for the benefit of the country's economy.

"It is not easy to become an entrepreneur. A new entrepreneur must be ready to face various challenges and difficulties. Therefore, should first define their visions clearly and then commit to working honestly and sincerely to achieve the desired goals," he said.

"Young entrepreneurs of the country will play a pivotal role as the main architects in building a Smart Bangladesh by 2041," he said.

He said the young entrepreneurs must be creative and bold in their business strategy in the era of artificial intelligence (AI) where there will be less dependency on manual work.

Senior vice-president of FBCCI Md Amin Helaly said Bangladesh has a lot of young entrepreneurs who have the abilities to contribute to the country's economy.

Prof Rafiuddin Ahmed of Dhaka University, in his presentation, said the unemployment rate will rise if the younger generation lacks skills and does not show interest in freelancing opportunities.

Chairman of the committee and also managing director of Dhaka Resort Ltd Mohammad Sajibul Al Rajib presided over the meeting attended by Director-in-charge of the standing committee Md Kawser Ahmed, and FBCCI directors Harun or Rashid, Syed Md Bakhtiar, Niaz Ali Chisty and Ishaqul Islam Sweet.
