Banglalink honours best staff

Banglalink, the country's second largest telecom service provider, has honoured the best performing staff of the company under its 'Employee Awards Programme 2014'.
In this connection, a function was organised in the city recently attended by Chief Information & Customer Experience Officer of Banglalink Nizar El Assaad and anchor Naveed Mahmud. Among others, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Banglalink Ziad Shatara was also present.
The staff was presented with awards in recognition to their excellent performance during the last year.
The merit-based awards were given mainly to encourage the employees through recognising their best performance, an official release from the operator said Tuesday.
This year the awards were given in four categories: 'The employee of the year' (Gold & Silver), 'The leader of the year', 'The innovator of the year' and 'The region of the year'.
Md Majid Ul Alam, BSS Associate Manager, Engineering, was adjudged 'The Employee of the Year 2013' (golden category) award, while Md Mahbubul Alam Bhuiyan, Head of Mass Market and Loyalty & Partnership, Marketing, emerged the best in the silver category.
The Leader of the Year 2013 award went to Abdus Saboor, Supply Chain Deputy Director, Accounting & Finance, and the Innovator of the Year 2013 award went to Muhammad Hasan, Product and Services Deputy Manager, Product & Services.
Head of Mass Market Sales & Distribution, Sales of the Bogra zone, Maruf Mizan received The Region of the Year 2013 award.
Speaking on the occasion, CEO of Banglalink Ziad Shatara congratulated the winners. He emphasised the importance of performance appreciation culture and encouraged all to deliver their best.
A jury board comprising a cross functional team with representatives from all departments was formed to collect nominations from across the organisation.
The eligibility and accomplishments of each nominee were then validated against parameters such as compliance with rules and regulations and code of conduct, performance rating in 2013, success in critical project, contribution to revenue growth and cost efficiency and tenure in Banglalink.
