BASIC Bank expresses deep shock at Khaleda Zia's death

The Board of Directors of BASIC PLC, a state-owned commercial bank, expressed deep shock and grief at the death of Begum Khaleda Zia, former prime minister of Bangladesh who served the nation for three times.
A condolence resolution was unanimously adopted at the 706th meeting of the Board of Directors held on 30 December, chaired by Helal Ahmed Chowdhury, Chairman of the Board, says a press release.
The Board prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved family.
The meeting was attended by Munshi Abdul Ahad, Additional Secretary of the Finance Division, Ministry of Finance and Director of the bank, Sheikh Farid, Joint Secretary of the Financial Institutions Division and Director, Md. Matiur Rahman, FCA, Md. Abdul Ahad, former Additional Secretary; Dr. Abu Saleh Mostafa Kamal, retired Grade-1 government officer, S.M. Iqbal Hossain, Director, Md. Sirajul Islam, Executive Director of Bangladesh Bank and Observer to the Board, Md. Quamruzzaman Khan, Managing Director & CEO of BASIC Bank, Md. Hasan Imam, Company Secretary; and Saidur Rahman Sohel, Chief Financial Officer.
