Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) has honoured the top 10 IT and ITES exporters for FY 2024-25 in recognition of their contribution to national export earnings.

The award recipients are BJIT Limited, Brain Station 23 Limited, ULKASEMI Private Limited, SELISE Digital Platforms, Cefalo Bangladesh Limited, Samsung R&D Institute Bangladesh Limited, Enosis Solutions, Therap (BD) Limited, Radiant Data Systems Limited, and Data Path Limited.

These firms provide high-value services in areas such as software development, artificial intelligence, research and development, fintech and healthtech, strengthening Bangladesh's footprint in global markets.

The awards were given at the BASIS IT Exporters' Night 2026, held on Tuesday evening at a hotel in the capital. Organised by the BASIS in collaboration with the Business Promotion Bureau, the event brought together leading IT and IT-enabled services (ITES) exporters, policymakers, entrepreneurs, diplomats and industry stakeholders.

Speakers at the ceremony noted that BASIS member companies are now exporting software and IT services to more than 104 countries. In FY 2024-25, nearly 500 BASIS members were involved in export activities, with around 300 regular exporters. The United States, Japan, the United Kingdom, South Korea, Norway, Denmark, the Netherlands, Hong Kong, Singapore and Canada remain the leading destinations for Bangladesh's IT exports.

A panel discussion on the prospects and challenges of IT exports for economic diversification featured Julian Andrin Weber, Managing Director of SELISE Bangladesh Limited; Raisul Kabir, CEO of Brain Station 23 PLC; Ferdous Mahmud Shaon, Managing Director of Cefalo Bangladesh Ltd; and Morikawa Yuko, Senior Representative of JICA Bangladesh.

The panelists stressed the need for stronger coordination among policymakers, financial institutions and the private sector to unlock further export potential. The discussion was moderated by Mushfiqur Rahman and Rashed Kamal, members of the BASIS Associate Committee.

Opening the event, Mustafa Rafiqul Islam DUKE, founding member of BASIS and member of the BASIS Associate Committee, said the organisation began with a vision to position Bangladesh's IT sector in the global market. "Today, that dream has become a reality, with our industry steadily securing a strong international presence," he said, adding that the event was both a celebration of past achievements and a commitment to shaping the sector's future.

Rowshan Kamal James, convener of BASIS IT Exporters' Night 2026 and member of the BASIS Associate Committee, said the IT and ITES sector had moved beyond potential to tangible success. He noted that recognising top exporters would inspire new entrepreneurs, expand market reach and strengthen dialogue between policymakers and industry players.

As the chief guest, Shish Haider Chowdhury, Secretary of the ICT Division, described the IT and ITES sector as a major driver of Bangladesh's economy. He highlighted government support through cash incentives, skills development and market access initiatives, and said platforms like BASIS IT Exporters' Night would further accelerate sustainable growth through stronger public-private partnerships.

Chairing the event, Abul Khair Mohammad Hafizullah Khan, Joint Secretary of the Local Government Division and BASIS Administrator, said BASIS had grown from just 18 member companies to over 2,700. He identified cash incentives, tax exemptions, human capital development and access to international markets as the four pillars shaping the next phase of growth for the sector.

The event also featured remarks from Dr Md Razzaqul Islam, Deputy Secretary, Ministry of Commerce and Director (Export Wing), Business Promotion Council; Gayle Martin, Operations Manager for Bangladesh and Bhutan at the World Bank; and Syed Mahbubur Rahman, Managing Director and CEO of Mutual Trust Bank PLC.
