Prof Suraiya Begum has been elected the Chairman of Bay Leasing & Investment Limited and Zubayer Kabir elected Vice Chairman at the 200th meeting of the company's Board of Directors held recently, says a press release.
Prof Suraiya, born in a respectable Muslim family in Feni, completed her Master's, BEd and higher studies in the Netherlands. She started off her career in the teaching profession and held the position of Vice Principal of Jagannath College and Principal of Home Economics College.
She also served as a Member of the Public Service Commission (PSC) until 2012. She is currently a member of the Audit Committee of the Board of Bay Leasing & Investment Ltd.
Newly elected Vice Chairman Zubayer Kabir was born in a respectable Muslim family in Dhaka. After completing his schooling and college studies in Dhaka, he pursued graduate studies in Boston, USA.
After his return from abroad, Mr Kabir got involved in the financial business and was a sponsor-shareholder and later became a Director of Exim Bank Ltd.
He is now serving as the Managing Director of National Securities and Consultants Ltd. and a Member of Audit Committee of Bay Leasing & Investment Ltd.
