BB chief to inaugurate confce on \\\'CSR, Green Banking\\\'

The third international conference on 'Responsible Business Conduct in Poverty Alleviation & Financial Inclusion through Green Banking & CSR' will begin tomottoe (Saturday) at 9:30am at the Bangladesh Bank Training Academy in the city's Mirpur area, reports UNB.

Governor of the central bank Dr Atiur Rahman, who during his tenure has championed environmentally conscious 'green banking', will attend the inaugural ceremony of the conference as the chief guest.

Dr Rahman, since being appointed in 2009, has also used his background in development economics to lead Bangladesh Bank into new pastures with thought-leadership in poverty alleviation - not traditionally a remit of the central bank.

Social Responsibility Asia (SR. Asia) with the support of the Bangladesh Bank, Labour Ministry, Embassy of Japan, International Organisation of Migration (IOM) and IBCCI are organising the two-day conference.

High officials of different banks and financial institutions are expected to take part in the conference.
