Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS), the country's national statistical organisation, will prepare a detailed business register, encompassing information on all economic units with their basic characteristics.
The 32-volume register will be the largest-ever. The labour wing under the BBS disclosed this at an inception workshop held at its headquarters in the city on Thursday. The BBS earlier prepared almost the same named register of establishment in 2010.

It last conducted the manufacturing survey in 2012. The BBS, however, has a plan to unveil the business directory in June in 2019.
