Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Tuesday invited the business leaders of Japan to come up with more investment in Bangladesh to avail themselves of its sound macroeconomic approach, pragmatic policies, liberal investment policies and friendly investment climate.

“I invite you all to be our partners in our business activities, sharing profits and prosperity as we journey to the future,” she said.

The Prime Minister was addressing a luncheon event hosted by Japan Bangladesh Committee for Commercial and Economic Cooperation (JBCCEC). Distinguished Leaders of the Business Community of Japan were present.

Hasina further said, “I believe that the present state of our bilateral relations calls for conclusion of a ‘Comprehensive Partnership Agreement’ between Bangladesh and Japan. I hope all of you would extend your support on this for furthering our mutual interests that includes increasing trade and investment.”

In this connection, the Prime Minister cited that JETRO (Japan External Trade Organization) has found Bangladesh as the second best profit-making destination for Japanese business in Asia with 87 percent respondents expressing readiness to invest in Bangladesh, according to UNB.
